In short

This website sets no cookies at all.
The Fostr app uses only the cookies it needs to sign you in and keep you safe.
Fostr never uses cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking, and no other company sets cookies through Fostr to follow you.

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Sites use them to remember things, such as the fact that you are signed in.

Browsers also have their own storage that works in a similar way. Some of it is cleared when you close the tab; some of it stays on the device until it is cleared. This policy covers both.

2.This website

fostrtech.com sets no cookies and saves nothing in your browser's storage. It loads nothing from other websites, so no other company can set cookies through it either. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to agree to. Your browser may keep its own copy of the site's files so pages load faster next time.

3.Cookies in the Fostr app

The Fostr app is where agency staff sign in and work. It uses only the cookies below, and all of them are strictly necessary: without them, you cannot sign in or use the app safely.

4.Browser storage in the Fostr app

Kept only while the tab is open

These are cleared when you close the tab, and some are cleared when you sign in or out:

words you have typed in a quick note but not yet sent, so a page reload does not lose them;
notes you have sent that are still on their way to Fostr;
the list of documents you are uploading, with each file's name and size, until every upload has finished;
the email addresses you last entered for people signing a document;
where to return you after you confirm your identity again.

Kept on the device

These stay until you clear your browser's site data. None of them holds a person's name or case notes:

your display choices, such as light or dark mode, reduced motion and whether the side panel is folded away;
that you have dismissed the welcome note shown in your first week;
your role (for example "caseworker"), so pages load faster;
which form you last used for a child, saved by record number rather than name;
your layout for building a spreadsheet, and the forms you use most;
a signal that tells your other open Fostr tabs when you sign out.

5.The Fostr iPad app

The iPad app does not use cookies for tracking. It keeps a copy of recent case information on the iPad so caseworkers can keep working without a signal. That copy is protected by the iPad's built-in encryption and erased when the caseworker signs out.

6.Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the Fostr app's cookies, you will not be able to sign in. Clearing your browser's site data signs you out and resets your display choices.

7.Changes and contact

If we ever add a cookie, we will update this page first, along with the date at the top.
